The Provincial exam for Principles of Mathematics 10 is mandatory. Students may challenge the course by completing a Challenge Exam. However, they will also need to write the Math 10P Provincial exam, before they can receive a final mark for that course. The Provincial exam can be written once the student is enrolled in a BC school. The Challenge mark makes up 80% of the final mark and the Provincial exam makes up 20% of the final mark. Provincial exams are also mandatory for English 10, Science 10, Social Studies 11, Civic Studies 11, and English 12. The Provincial Exam in English 12 is worth 40% of the final mark in that course. All other provincial Grade 12 exams are optional. Students planning to attend University should check to see if the optional exams are required for entrance. |
