The application form includes questions designed to determine the appropriateness of the Challenge request. For Language Challenges, this process is quite simple as the exam itself is intended to measure how well students meet the outcomes of a course that is a second (not home) language. For Math 10P, Math 11P or one of the Science 11 courses, the questions will help determine if the student has already covered the course content. If it is determined that the student has not met the requirements for a course challenge, they may be denied the opportunity to write a Challenge exam. A student may challenge a course only once. Students who have successfully completed a course in BC may not write a challenge exam in the same subject at a later date for the purpose of improving their mark. Students who would like to improve their mark in the course that they challenged are still eligible to take the course in a classroom setting at a later date. Writing a Challenge exam is separate from the process of applying to become an International Student in BC. Completing a Challenge exam is not a guarantee of enrolment in a BC School District nor is it a guarantee of receiving a student visa. Delta Global Campus is working with the Delta School District (http://godelta.ca/) but students can apply to any School District in BC. The grades and credits are valid for all School Districts. |
